Bertha M. Rodriguez

About

Bertha Maria Rodriguez, Esq., is a dedicated and experienced attorney specializing in Family and Immigration Law, with a solid commitment to serving low-income individuals and families. Practicing exclusively in these areas since her admission to the bar in 2014, Ms. Rodriguez brings passion and skill to each case, helping clients navigate the complexities of family transitions and the intricacies of immigration processes. Her decision to open her own practice focused on Family and Immigration Law stemmed from a lifelong drive to advocate for families and individuals in need, especially those facing challenges in understanding and accessing legal assistance.

Ms. Rodriguez is widely respected for her thoughtful, practical, and innovative approach to legal representation, offering a comprehensive range of family and immigration-related services. Her approach is client-centered, crafting tailored solutions that align with each client’s unique objectives and aspirations. Ms. Rodriguez’s own background as an immigrant from the Dominican Republic deeply influences her work; she has been driven to pursue a career defending the rights of others since her youth. A graduate of John Jay College with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, she went on to earn her law degree from Albany Law School, graduating in December 2010.

Over the past decade, Ms. Rodriguez has dedicated countless hours to pro bono work, assisting low-income individuals in family court and with family-based immigration matters. She actively volunteers with nonprofits across Westchester, Putnam, and surrounding communities, providing legal aid to immigrants during some of their most challenging times. Known for her personal dedication and practical guidance, clients value her attention and steadfast commitment.

In addition to her private practice, Ms. Rodriguez serves as the Managing Attorney at the Community Resource Center, where she oversees legal staff and represents clients in both Family and Immigration Court. Her practice spans family, matrimonial, and immigration cases, including complex matters like custody, guardianship, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) petitions. With over a decade of experience, a deep understanding of the immigrant experience, and fluency in Spanish, Ms. Rodriguez provides vital legal support to diverse communities, organizing clinics, and offering training in both English and Spanish to meet the needs of vulnerable populations.
